Is homeschooling needed?

Throughout all the years in my life, I was influenced by my parents in many ways, from the way of thinking to the trifle thing. No doubt, we inherit the gene from our parents. We get basic knowledge and norms from our parents. What we learned from them will influence our behaviors. But in the term of teaching, I don’t think that homeschooling which our parents become the teacher is the best way to teach us.

As we know, a child will be better trained in systematic education. On the other hand, children can only learn a large scope of knowledge step by step from formal education at schools. Moreover, parent can only teach their children sporadic knowledge. It will make the student can not be open minded.
From the emotional point of view, the bond between child and parents are so tight that the parents cannot give a more objective instruction than a schoolteacher can. Some parent tend to spare their children from hard work, some even spoil their children to do everything that they want. All these resulted from parent’s love to their children.
All this is not to say that to learn from parents is useless. In fact, even in the rapidly changing world, the scope of parent’s knowledge still great influence i=on their children, especially on young children. But for the young to get most needed knowledge, they should not solely rely on what they learned from their parents.

Ground zero mosque

Should the ground zero mosque be allowed? Is it acceptable?
Cordoba House, also referred to as the "Ground Zero Mosque" and "Park51", is a planned $100 million, 13-story, glass and steel Islamic cultural center and mosque. The plan is to raze an existing 1850s Italianate building that was damaged in the September 11 attacks, and build the mosque in its place. It is to be built two blocks (less than 600 feet, or 180 meters) from Ground Zero in New York City. An anticipated 1,000 to 2,000 Muslims will pray at it every Friday, once it is built. The proposed location of the mosque triggered an intense national controversy.
Polls showed that a majority of Americans, as well as most New Yorkers, opposed the mosque being built on that site. Many were upset by the prospect of an Islamic center being built so close to Ground Zero, where Islamist terrorists had killed nearly 3,000 people in the name of Islam. Across the United States, families of 9/11 victims, as well as politicians, Muslims, and organizations, came out both for and against the mosque being built in the Ground Zero vicinity. Some relatives of 9/11 victims argued that the project's choice of location was insensitive, while others said that the project would be an opportunity for Muslims to demonstrate that there are moderates among them. Some politicians, such as Rick Lazio, questioned the project's source of funding, as well as the project leader's views on 9/11 and terrorism. Others, such as New York City Mayor Bloomberg, welcomed the mosque as an expression of freedom of religion. Prominent Muslims split over whether the project was an act of friendship, or an unnecessary and ostentatious provocation. Newt Gingrich and others assailed the name of the project. It harked back to 8th century Córdoba, Spain, the Islamic seat of power after Muslim conquerors defeated Western Christians and occupied and ruled Spain, though the project sponsors said it was meant to point to where Muslims, Christians, and Jews co-existed peacefully. With the name proving to be inflammatory, its investors subsequently renamed the project "Park51".

well guys, this some terms rules in australian english debate
Motion: topik yg diperdebatkan(tentu sdh pada tau)
Parameter : Limitation of the argument
>>yaitu batasan yg harus diberikan oleh team positif agar pembicaraan tidak panjang lebar dan tdk sesuai dgn Motion.
Parameter penting skali karena dlm perdebatan akan muncul ide2 baru yg nantinya tdk akn bertemu pada satu titik.Maka guna parameter untuk membatasi pembicaraan.
Parameter jg bs digunakan sbg penjebak apabila team lawan berargumen yg keluar dari parameter anda.
Jika Positif team tidak memberikn parameter maka haknya bisa diambil oleh negatif team dan itu sgt berbahaya,krn jalur pembicaraan dipegang team lawan.

Team Split : bagian2 yg akn di bicarakan oleh msg2 speaker.
mis: society point of view,Law point of view,Morality point of view,Health pof dll.

Themeline: garis besar/inti dari motion yg diambil dari keseluruhan argument

Matter : materi yg dismpaikn harus sesuai n berhubungan dengan motion(jgn keluar jalur)
Manner: cara penyampaian argument: sopan,tegas,meyakinkan,suara jgn sampai lembek karena berpengaruh pd kekuatan argument anda,jg BODY LANGUAGE jg sngt penting(jgn tegang seprti patung).

method: metode penyampaian dr 1st speaker-3rd speaker dan pembagian tugas harus jelas.
Ketiga unsur ini mempengaruhi margin dlm penjurian.
Timer : Ini jg sgnt penting wkt smakin panjang makin bgs.
Pengalaman sy dl: wkt bicara tdk ush terburu2 jk apa yg disampaikan tidak banyak,cr mengulur dgn pura2 berpikir(acting),jd wkt kita yg lama sebelum ketukan hrs berhenti akn menambah margin jg dlm penilaian.

mis ditengah anda sedang bera argument maka salah satu atau dua..atau bahkan ketiganya dari team lawan akan berdiri sambil mengangkat tangan dan berteriak P.o.i (point of interuption)lalu menyampaikan rebutlenya untuk anda.
namun cara ini jarang dipakai,hanya kemarin pernah sy alami di EDC smu-smk seDIY di AKPRIND univ.
